2.  EXPLORATION AND EMPIRE  - THE EXPLORER AND THE SCIENTIST IN THE WINNING OF THE AMERICAN WEST.  By William H. Goetzmann.  Published by Alfred A. Knopf  New York  1966.   656 pages plus Index.

3.  MEN TO MATCH MY MOUNTAINS - THE OPENING OF THE FAR WEST 1840 - 1900.  By Irving Stone.  Published by Doubleday & Company  Garden City New York  1956.   459 pages.

All books good condition overall.  No interior markings or staining.  No torn or bent pages.  No library markings, except that 2nd book has some "Discard" stampings.  Bindings sound.  Dust jackets not clipped - the dust jackets do have some tattering on the edges.  See photos please.
