2012. Directed by Johnny Dickie. TAGLINES : "More than just a bad movie!" "The last video you will ever watch!" - After a teen steals a VHS tape titled "Slaughter Tales" from a yard sale, he seals his fate by ignoring a ghostly apparition in his bath tub and watching the stolen tape. as the movie progresses, simple nightmares turn reality as evil is released from the tape. BEHIND THE SCENES TRIVIA : Shot for an estimated $65, and shot almost entirely in the directors own home. All the effects used in the film were practical, and all the fire and explosions were done on-set. The screams when the demon boy pulling his own face off were real, as the latex used was not made for direct skin application, and made a strong bond to the actor's real skin. Johnny Dickie used an air compressor for applying both make-up and fake blood. A health class CPR doll was used as a background prop. Moreover, a severed foot was purchased at a Halloween store for use as a background prop in the film. A mock trailer was cut from the film because it was for an action movie instead of a horror picture and hence director Johnny Dickie thought it was out of place. The vomit in the bathtub regurgitation scene was actually mustard. The pitchfork was purchased by Johnny Dickie at a country auction for only a dollar. The scene with the boy killing his mother was lit with a flashlight. Johnny Dickie plays three characters in the film's climax. Lloyd Kaufman of TROMA fame, improvised all of his lines. The opening scene was shot at a friend's yard sale. VIEWER COMMENT : ""This film might have been made by a 15 year old.....BUT it's perfectly enjoyable, and will totally surprise you at times. I really enjoying this film and, think it can be pretty inspiring to young filmmakers that need an extra push to complete a feature or short film. This director, Johnny Dickie, did what many of us, at his age thought of doing, to make a feature film, and I think that act should be celebrated. I hope he continues to keep at it so his craft can evolve, because Johnny Dickie certainly has the potential. This was a very enjoyable viewing experience. The video is also very hard to find anymore."
