7860 Belgian trade card P B Van Moorleghem Makelaar militaire plaatsvervangingen
 
Very good condition. Blank reverse w/ residual paper in each corner from this card having been mounted in a Victorian album. The upper right corner has a light 6” diagonal bend and a 1” diagonal light bend.

Age of this trade card - c. 1865.

Image: The drawing of lots to become a soldier. In the center main image - Under a canopy is the inspection of a lottery.

Left margin top image: A citizen in a wreath under S. P. O. G.

Under the citizen a shield on which two gentlemen shake hands concluding a transaction.

Then at the bottom left, the lottery puts on soldier's clothing,

On the right column of images -

- The new soldier hands over his civilian clothing to the lottery. 

- Then a shield in which a soldier with gun.

- Then the last image, the man is standing as a soldier.
