Nike teamed up with Japanese designer Sacai for the second time to create this hybrid of two iconic sneakers - the 'LDV' and 'Waffle Racer'. Nike's sought-after collaboration with Sacai makes use of Ms Chitose Abe's signature hybridisation techniques. These sneakers fuse two of the sportswear giant's most iconic silhouettes – the 'LDV' and the 'Waffle Racer' – and are panelled from tonal-black suede and shell, with leather 'Swooshes'. They feature glossy ribbon laces which crisscross over double tongues and are set on a sculptural extended white sole.

When we first spotted the sacai x Nike LDWaffle Black Nylon at Paris Fashion Week last summer, it was love at first sight. The sequel to Chitose Abe's highly coveted hybrid silhouette that she debuted last year, this is, hands down, the most versatile of the bunch, and it could also be the most luxurious as well. Like what you hear? Then read on to find out everything that there is to know about the Black Nylon! Boasting an ultra clean black and white makeup that'll work with any fit, the Black Nylon is decked out in suede and leather with a nylon base that's a departure from 2019's releases. A fusion between the classic LDV and Waffle, Abe takes this literally by adding both Swooshes, tongues, and midsoles together, resulting in a sneaker that is unlike anything else out there.

Another change that's worth highlighting is the revamped lacing system that replaces the signature flat style laces with a pair of smooth ribbons. While this may seem like an odd choice at first, it aligns with the Japanese style icon's androgynous aesthetic. What's more, you can change them out if you don't like them, so it's no bid deal! Releasing alongside an all white iteration, the sacai x Nike LDWaffle Black Nylon is set to be a holy grail, and is set to release on the 10th March 2020, so make sure to set a reminder to cop a pair!

Es ist endlich soweit und der nächste Colorway des LDV Waffle aus der Nike x Sacai Kollaboration steht an. Anders wie seine Vorgänger bringt er jedoch sichtliche Änderungen, was das Obermaterial betrifft mit sich. Statt des perforierten Materials besteht das Upper nun aus schwarzem Nylon, wodurch sich die Silhouette auch für kältere Tage eignet.

Ansonsten überzeugt das Modell durch die gewohnte Double-Layering-Optik, die sich von der Sohle bis zur Zunge durchzieht. Farblich ist die erste Nylon Version eher zurückhaltend und kommt mit einem komplett schwarz gefärbten Upper. Insgesamt ein starkes Modell, jedoch lebt die Silhouette unserer Meinung nach vor allem durch seine Kontrastreichen Farbkombinationen, die uns beim Black Nylon fehlen.

Bei sacai geht es um doppelte Brandings. Mit diesen unverwechselbaren Eigenschaften spielt die sacai-Designerin Chitose Abe bei vielen Iterationen aus. Zuerst wurde das neuartige Design letztes Jahr auf den Laufstegen in Paris gesichtet. Für viele Designerliebhaber und Sneakerheads waren die doppelten Brandings und eine doppelte Sohle eine Neuheit. Nach den letzten Drops, die vor einigen Wochen veröffentlicht wurden, soll jetzt eine cleane weiße und schwarze Version folgen. Insider zeigten auf Instagram die zwei Newcomer mit einem luxuriösen Leder und Wildleder. Laces, Swoosh und Zunge wurden ebenfalls verdoppelt, während die doppelten Laces aus dünnen Bändern und Kordeln bestehen. Die übertriebene weiße Zwischensohle bei der weißen und schwarzen Version unterschreiben sacai’s unverkennbaren Stil und runden das Design ab.
