This quarter-Kuwaiti dinar note is part of the fourth series issued by the Central Bank of Kuwaiti after the liberation in 1991. It is a red note that measures 115 mm x 68 mm and bears the signatures of Bank Governor Salem Abdul Aziz Sa’ud al-Sabah and Finance Minister Jassam Mohammad al-Kharafi. Its obverse side features an oil derrick and a national emblem. Its reverse side shows an oil refinery. Security features include a solid security thread and a dhow watermark. The note was demonetized in 2004. It is also a superb gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average margins and registration. Thus, it is graded 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
