PACKERS HAMMER CHIEFS IN FIRST SUPER BOWL GAME 19”x13” COMMEMORATIVE POSTER

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in the first “Super Bowl.”

The game was then called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game.

The merger of the leagues would not be complete until the start of the 1969 season, and by then the final game of the NFL season was indeed called the Super Bowl.

The Packers handily beat the Chiefs, 35-10, scoring 21 points in the second half and holding the Chiefs scoreless.

Bart Starr was chosen the game MVP.

Vince Lombardi was the Green Bay head coach. It was his next to last year as Packers head coach.
