Newly manufactured for the PXL-2000. Made from the same type of glass found in modern professional filtering lenses. Drops right into the lens assembly, and functions identically to the original. It filters out infrared light past 650nm.

I am a PXL enthusiast who had these parts made specifically for the PXL. This is not an off-the-shelf part, it is custom made.

If you buy an old, untouched PXL-2000 today and hook it up, you'll probably notice that the image is completely blurry. This is due to offgas buildup on the IR Filter that happens over time. Removing the filter restores clarity to the image, but lets in harmful infrared radiation that can damage your CCD sensor, and can also make outside filming difficult and not true to life.

Sometimes, the original filter is stuck in place, and removing it results in it getting chipped or broken. And often, if you purchase a camera that has already been modified by somebody else, they may have removed the original filter entirely, leaving nothing in its place. This replacement is perfect for all of these situations.
