These New Balance '327' sneakers were first shown in Casablanca's SS21 collection entitled 'After the Rain Comes the Rainbow' which explores the meaning of optimism. A re-imagining of an archival style, this colorful pair of perforated leather, suede and canvas is patterned with interlocking 'C' monograms and has an embroidered tongue. The green gripped rubber soles extend over the heels and toes.
While its classic-modern design alone would have guaranteed market success, the real kick for the New Balance 327 was its debut drop in collaboration with Parisian label Casablanca. The hype lasted longer than expected until its main losses, but when it returned to Casablanca for a second collection it fell a little flat on the face. Granted, the model is still moving units (and then some) - but it seems the first wave has settled. That's for now, with a third effort from the label already garnering significant interest on social media and message boards.
Teased by brand collaborations manager Joe Grondin, this upcoming New Balance 327 release features Casablanca's seasonal Monogram pattern, first introduced as part of its Fall/Winter collection. With its traditional high fashion appeal, the fabric features linked gold and green strands on a burgundy base, seen here on the forefoot and back overlays. Special stripes are also applied along the sail-toned tongue, while most others arrive in their now signature mix of white perforated leather, white midsoles and green rubber outsoles.
