If you were a West Coast Marine or Naval Aviator, Aircrew, SEAL, EOD, SWCC or USMC MARSOC/Force Recon & Sniper and went through Warner Springs or if you were on the East Coast & went through Brunswick Rangeley, this coin is for you.

The green on the SERE patch represents Freedom, the yellow strip signifies Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape, the Knife represents the basic survival tool, the Barb Wire represents "captivity but freedom regained", the red Chinese character Hu (tiger) alludes to "Here Be Dragons/Tigers" legend found on early maps and the black symbolically honors those who have died on active duty.

You can have one of these if you aren't a SERE Graduate....just don't call yourself one of the few & don't use this to be a wannabe! Yes, I went through Warner Springs in 1977.
