Chickadee & White Pine Cone and Tassel Augusta, Maine ME 04330 US FDCs Scott#1953-2002 Birds & Flowers of the 50 States First Day of Issue Date: 4/14/1982 On April 14, 1982, The United States Postal Service issued a 50 stamp souvenir sheet of the state birds and flowers of every state in the union. Each stamp depicted each state's official bird and flower. The state birds were painted by artist Arthur Singer and the state flowers were painted by his son Alan Singer. The standard First Day of Issue cancel was for Washington, DC as the nation's capitol. ( 4/14/82) Cancels were also made available from each of the 50 State Capital's with a stylized pictorial cancel from the capital city (also 4/14/82). These cancels were much less common.

****All items are packed carefully with cardboard to ensure that they arrive to you in the same condition they left our full service store and offices. WE USUALLY SHIP WITHIN 1 FULL BUSINESS DAY OF PAYMENT.

SHIPPING RATES

Domestic - 1-3 items first class for $2 | 4-10 items first class parcel for $3 | 11 items and up will be adjusted depending on weight and value (normally sent in priority mail box for $6.00)

***** Some items that are odd shaped or heavier will have a different Standard Shipping price. These items will be subject to parcel rates at $3 or higher and will usually already be reflected in the listings shipping rate chart.

International - 1-3 items first class for $3 | 4 items and up will be adjusted depending on weight and value. Parcel rates for international shipments start at $10. (Canada & Mexico subject to slightly lower rates in parcel cases)

***** All international shipments with a value of $60 USD and over will be sent by registered mail for safety. The cost for registered mail is $13.65 extra, added to the above shipping rates. A buyer can request a lower, first class only shipping rate, but the buyer will take full responsibility for the items shipped and any possible loss or damage through mailing

**** Shipments to Italy will be subject to our Registered Mail rule (as seen above) but at items values of $30 USD and over.
