Here we have a collectable limited edition diecast London FX4 taxi in a livery reflecting the artwork of the Beatles iconic release " The Long & Winding Road/ For You Blue." Very high quality tampo printing, this Taxi is a work of art in itself!
The diecast FX4 taxi is about the same scale as the later 1:36 Corgi version. It is I believe a different casting manufactured by Factory Entertainment & very nicely finished. Presented in blister type packaging and in a plain white outer box.
The venerable FX4 Black Cab was taken as "part of the furniture" for many of us through childhood and well into adult life. It was in production for almost 40 yrs with the classic external shape left largely unchanged throughout that time. However the mechanics and interior did receive a number of upgrades with the last evolution, The Fairway, widely considered the best.
The FX4 also "worked the reg round" in that it was there to receive the "A" suffix year letter at the front of the plate in 1963 and still around to receive the "A" prefix at the back of the plate in 1984. In fact the FX4 would continue right through the prefix year letters until 1997(P).
