This Russian silver with niello box was produced ca. 1858 in Moscow. It bears Moscow hall mark "84", remainder of the mark of Moscow assay master with a date of "1858", and a mark of an unknown silversmith "NF" (in Cyrillic; unlisted in Postnikova). The same master produced another, very similar silver box in our possession (see our web # 28487).
