Bilingual text in French and Dutch. Obscure and excellent book showcasing prints, paintings, and illustrated publication in the collection of the royal library of Belgium. Extensively researched, with full annotations and monochrome illustrations of over 200 artworks and books, with a suite of 19 full-page color plates in the rear, nearly all of it work unfamiliar to me, and perhaps their first publication. Rare book particularly notable for the coverage of books and periodicals illustrated by Spilliaert, all shown in full spreads. Most highly recommended. In excellent condition.
