Photograph Notes: The A9 and powerlines run past a lochan on the Nuide Moors. This is probably a kettlehole, formed when a lump of ice melted slowly as sand was washed up against it. The resulting hole is now flooded providing a home for wildfowl next to Northern Scotland's busiest trunk road.
