Polar Bear (2091)

With long legs and an even longer stride they are our fastest land animal, showing huge energy as they chase each other in March. This is all very well, until the female decides she has had enough of the male ‘s advances and stops in her tracks and boxes him in discouragement. Unfortunately, they are mainly nocturnal, so spotting them in the day is a special treat.

Sculptures cast in solid bronze by Butler & Peach.

These pieces are traditional foundry solid bronze sculptures, and not the cheap cold cast resin which some mistaken sellers call bronze.  Crafted using the "lost wax" hot cast method, a highly skilled process used for over 3500 years, and completed with a beautiful patina finish, these techniques guarantee that no two items will ever be identical.

Richard Cooper & Company work with UK sculptors and designers to create stunning and unique foundry bronze sculptures. Products range from the flamboyant figurative work of Landanski, through to the detailed wildlife studies of Michael Simpson. The foundry cast bronzes are produced using the lost wax method and sealed with a protective wax, preserving and enhancing the rich layers of patina applied to the surface. Each bronze is decorated and finished either using traditional patinas or by hand painting with acrylics and enamels. Most pieces are limited edition from 50 to a maximum of 150 depending on the piece. This ensures that the work will retain a value that will not be diluted by over-production and makes this item suitable as either a gift or an investment opportunity.
