Super rare frame, in the arts and crafts / art nouveau style, often found in the more common silver plate. This rare frame dates from 1907 and features the classic Byron "Friendship is love without his wings" quote.

Markings: Fully hallmarked for .925 sterling silver, Birmingham hallmark, 1907. To the right of the frame is a stamped registration mark. Please see images above.

Size: Aperture is 3 1/4" (8.5 cm) by 2" (5.5 cm), external dimensions 6 1/4” (15.5 cm) by 4 1/2” (11.5 cm).

Condition: Frame is in excellent condition, wood has been freshly waxed and polished, the silk backing and glass being recently replaced. The silver is bright polished. As is common with frames of this detail and design, the silver has a few dents and bumps around the edges, but is in generally excellent order, and one flower (to the left of the quote) is a little crushed.
