The “Cromstaert”, this special commemorative coin was issued on the initiative of the “Stichting 800 jaar Hulst Stad”, 
in collaboration with “Monument Manifestations”. On it is mentioned the name of “Oppidem Hulstense”, 
being the name in which - Stad Hulst - is mentioned in Latin in old historical writings and documents. 
The medal shows the Hulster City Coat of Arms on one side and the Ghent Gate 
and the figure of Reynaert de Vos on the reverse, inextricably linked to Hulst's rich history 
and its Flemish origin.
