Description: Scarce. An attractive example of the Grosset and Dunlap edition its original dustwrapper designed by Carl W Bertsch. Not price-clipped, showing the original $.75 price to the inside front flap. 

The dustwrapper is in attractive condition, with wear and small losses to the edges and some toning (see pictures).  The book itself is in very attractive condition with boards and titles bright, and some slight bumping to the edges (see pictures). Partially erased signature "Clermont" to front free endpaper.  Binding sound and square. 

The Grosset and Dunlap edition appeared shortly after the first edition, published by Lippincott. The Grosset reprints used exactly the same plates as the originals, and thus the publisher is credited as Lippincott on the title page. 

Patricia Wentworth is the pen-name of Dora Amy Turnbull (1877-1961). Born in British India and educated in England, she is most famous for her Miss Silver detective series of crime novels.
