The Comoros 5,000 Francs from 1984 is part of the 1986 1994 series. Its obverse side features the Friday Mosque and boats in Moroni Harbor, and two locals wearing cultural headwear also known as Shiromani and Turban. The reverse side features a coelacanth fish, seashells, fruits, and a portrait of President Said Mohamed Cheikh wearing a fez and sash. The note is 160 x 85 mm in size and does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark image of a Crescent moon on Maltese cross is visible. Additionally, the note qualified for Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ) and has above average centering. Therefore, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
