Prints of this age show expected signs of age - like darkening around the edges, some staining and light foxing (see photo for actual condition). The colors remain vibrant and the paper stable.

James Sowerby, F.L.S. (21 March 1757 – 25 October 1822) was an English botanist. Published works, such as A Specimen of the Botany of New Holland or English Botany, include his detailed and appealing plates. The use of vivid colour and accessible texts were intended to reach a widening audience in works of natural history.
Condition
Each antique print is ready for framing and arrives with an archival acid-free 2-ply board and in a poly sleeve suitable for archival storage.
Being that this paper is nearly 200 years old, it is in very good condition. The original hand-painted colors remain vibrant and stable. The paper is lightweight, strong and not brittle. The reverse side of the print is blank.
