This remarkable vellum bound print album was apparently collected by subscription with 25 individual published chapters published by Johannes Allart of Amsterdam from 1794-1807 each bearing the title TAFEREELEN VAN DE STAATSOMWENTELING IN FRANKRIJK.  It contains 179 engravings from that period and the 25 title pages of the chapters.  It is intitled on the spine of the book Faits Memorables de la Revolution Francaise. I believe these individual chapters including their title pages and engravings were tipped in and bound in vellum in the late 19th c. The book (or album) has marbled end papers and is incredibly complete with amazing action scenes from the French Revolution as well as all the personalities involved from Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette to early era of Napoleon.  There is even a fine engraving of Benjamin Franklin. The volume is in great condition with general toning of the late 18th c. /early 19th c. engravings but a minimum of foxing. Most of the engravings look to be by Dutch engravers taken from Dutch and French portraits and scenes of the time.  It occurs to me that this may be the only book of its kind in existence.
