The Morpho didius part of the Morpho didius menelaus group (subgroup Grasseia) and originates from South America - Peru.
Its distribution extends from Ecuador to southern Peru.

It is because of its brilliant color, its size and patterning one of the most gorgeous butterflies worldwide.

The basic color is black. The characteristic, strong sparkling blue significantly change color when you change its angle.
Thus, the shade of blue changes on top of the wing over a turquoise to a green tone.

It is also known as Chrysiridia rhipheus, Madagascar sunset moth or duskmoth.
Black base coloration. Its characteristic, shimmering color possesses an iridescent hue on the upper wingsides.

As you can see, an absolutely beautiful butterfly!

Wingspan is about 10 to 12cm horizontally and about 14cm diagonally.

Origin: Southeast Asia, African and Australia
