On offer is a Pinnacle EL36 valve which is new and boxed.

These are large valves having an International Octal base; the glass tube envelope is about 30.0 mm in diameter and, excluding the International Octal base pins, is about 95 mm tall. This is electrically the same as the more common PL36, except the heater voltage is 6.3v and not 25v as in the PL36.

The EL36 was a purpose designed pentode intended to be used in the line output stage of monochrome televisions, but with many valves now becoming obsolete and unavailable, valves such as this are finding new uses in other equipment.

Due to its high peak voltage characteristics and high anode current these are now being used in both audio amplifiers and HF transmitter output stages, being useful up to about 30MHz.  

You will see from the photographs that the valve is new, boxed and unused ~ BUT UNTESTED. These came from part of the contents of the shack of an engineer and ‘silent key’ radio amateur, along with a number of other new and boxed valves, – all of which have worked without any problems.  As these are untested, they are being offered at a low starting price without any RETURNS OR GUARANTEE in order to comply with eBay’s terms and conditions.
