There is no band in the metal world whose name is more synonymous with stubbornness and the relentless pursuit of excellence without looking back than the name Behemoth. Throughout their career spanning over 30 years, Behemoth, led by Adam Nergal Darski, remain a phenomenon far more important than just the architects of the extreme metal scene in Poland. With eleven albums, Nergal's extraordinary vision transformed Behemoth into something far bigger than an ordinary black metal band. Behemoth has become the epitome of rebellion, individualism, and an iron aversion to any compromise. Nergal says this about the new release: "The album title means going against the tide. It's like a negative of values, morals and ethics that I strongly oppose. I’m still struggling with destructive tendencies in pop culture – limiting or even banning culture, social media, and other tools that I think are a very dangerous weapon in the hands of people who aren’t absolutely competent to judge others. From an artist's perspective, I find this very destructive, disturbing and limiting. I show it all my middle finger. The new album features a track titled "Neo-Spartacvs". Spartacus was one of the most famous rebels in history - he rose up against the most powerful empire of all time. After all, I shout, "I am Spartacus, and so are you!" I want to kindle this flame of rebellion. If something seems to you to be going wrong the way you want it - face it!" Being not fully satisfied and feeling uncomfortable are the basis of the brutal sounds that make up the 'Opvs Contra Natvram' album. “It’s both the most thoughtful and mature thing we’ve created – it’s basically total Behemoth,” adds the team leader. The 10 unusual tracks that make up 'Opvs Contra Natvram' were created over a very strange year for the world, further emphasizing the rage and anger contained in the compositions. The album was produced by Behemoth and the duties of sound engineer were undertaken by renowned producer Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir and In Flames, Daniel Bergstrand, among others. The mix is the work of legendary Joe Barresi, whose CV includes collaborations with Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains and Tool among others.
