Manuscript discovered by the celebrated Ukranian dancer’s wife that NIJINSKY composed during a manic six week period in 1919 …
Octavo hardback, around five inches by 8.5 tall, is bound in its publisher's original bottle green cloth. Note slight bumping at corners.
First UK edition published by Victor Gollancz, London, 1937. Provenance: As per inscriptions to front end papers [as photos, below]; free from further permanent inscription and markings to the text.
Although interior condition is overall good, because this original letterpress book is old, it does display minor signs of use and age — such as the usual discolouration to old paper; edge wear to frontispiece which is loose but present — consistent with a printed object of this vintage. All 205 pp main text are complete and otherwise correct.
¶ Vaslav Nijinsky (c 1889–1950); Polish-Ukrainian ballet dancer and choreographer. ¶
