How It Works?

Interceptor Spectrum consists of two active ingredients - milbemycin oxime and Praziquantel. Milbemycin oxime acts as a catalyst in killing different parasites by obstructing the transmission of nerve impulses of heartworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm. This results in paralysis in these parasites ultimately resulting in death. The other ingredient Praziquantel causes muscle spasm in tapeworm which is then attacked by enzymes and ultimately disintegrates. The combined effect of both these ingredients result in complete destruction of these parasites from the body of your dog.

How to use:

• Before commencing the treatment it is advisable to get your pet checked thoroughly for any prevailing heartworms
• If the results for heartworm microfilaria are negative then start administering Interceptor Spectrum tablet in your dog
• The very first step is to weigh your pet
• According to the weight of your pet select the right pack of tablets
• For thorough information on the dosage refer the dosage table
• Mix the chewable along with the food of the dog
• The dog needs to finish the meal completely for the entire dosage of tablet to be effective
• You can administer this tablet to dogs and puppies when they are 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks of age. Repeat this process on a monthly basis
• For treating pregnant bitches, administer Interceptor Spectrum at mating time, prior to whelping and then monthly.

We strictly recommend on not using this product for dogs in any of the following situations:

• For dogs older than 5 months of age and has never been on any heartworm preventive before.

• For dogs that have not been regular or has missed monthly doses of heartworm treatments. This is applicable even if there has been a gap of more than 6 weeks since the last dose of heartworm treatment.

If a canine is under any of the above situations, then it is essential to get him tested for heartworm infestation before giving this medication. Ask your veterinarian to advise you on the subject and to perform the necessary heartworm infestation tests before starting with this treatment.
