Jules Ronsin (1867 Rennes - 1937) was a well-listed French artist. He began his artist's career in a printing workshop in the city of Rennes then enrolled into this city's art school. Sometime later, he was granted a scholarship allowing him further education at the Parisian Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He studied there under William Bouguereau and Robert Fleury. Ronsin is known to have taken a study trip to Greece. In 1917, he was appointed Director of Rennes Art School. He remained in this function until 1921. From 1931 to 1935, he was Director of Rennes Museum of Fine Art. From 1894 to 1934 Ronsin regularly participated in the exhibitions of the Parisian "Salon des artistes français".
