Johann Baptist Clarot (1797 Vienna - after 1854 Budapest) was a
well-known Viennese portraitist and lithographer, son of engraver Joseph
Clarot and brother of portraitist (and miniaturist!) Alexander Clarot.
In 1814-1824 he studied at the Vienna Academy. Thereafter, he mostly
worked for various publishing houses in Vienna. In 1841 he settled in
Pest (Budapest), where he likely remained until his death.
