Japanese antique bronze Censer incense burner octagonal openwork peony ornament lion and dragons from buddhist temple 1900s H6.75×W6.75×D4.5in


One of buddhist altars used in a temple.

Octagonal body has openwork windows expressing peony flowers and its leaves coming out of the frames creep around three legs. Two dragon shaped handles give an imposing presence. "Shishi" , Foo Dog guardian on top of the lid.

An Ideal incense burner for cones.

Some inscription on the bottom but I couldn't make out the translation.


In used condition, signs of use with antiquing and patina finish.
