Just like the new models in the Mantra and Kenja lines, the Kendo 88 is also made with a new reworked geometry and central radius reduced by one metre, with sidecut with 3D radius. It should also be emphasized that generally the three different radii combined in a single ski offer characteristics of enormous versatility in curves. And the new 16-meter radius in the center further increases that versatility. Especially lovers of tight, cut turns skied completely on edge get exactly what they want. On the one hand, the new features allow particularly sporty and intuitive skiing on prepared slopes and on the other, they guarantee the necessary maneuverability to get along even on demanding terrain. Thanks to the shortened center radius, less effort is also required. Tailored Carbon Tips and the Tailored Titanal Frame have also been integrated into the Kendo 88 for this season, and so we can then come full circle: the Kendo embodies pure skiing fun.

Tailored Technologies, exclusive to Völkl

The Tailored Titanal Frame, used for the Mantra, Secret, Kendo and Kenja models, is the evolution of the already known Titanal frame. This design allows the width of the Titanal top layer to be adapted to the length of the ski, tailoring the resulting torsional stiffness and level of cushioning to the needs of the individual skier. The percentage of Titanal is reduced for shorter skis, so that even shorter or lighter skiers can get the most out of their skis with minimum effort. However, the possible uses of the Kendo 88 are multiplied above all thanks to the new Tailored Carbon Tips. Carbon fibers applied using Völkl's unique Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP) process allow for optimum influence on cornering behavior. The thickness and orientation of the fibers direct the necessary energy flow and effort exactly where it is needed. In this sense, the agile reaction of the spatula is particularly positive. This means that conduction starts right from the start of the curve and that the curve can be performed in a simple and controlled way. One could say that it is enough to think about the change of direction for the ski to take care of everything. Furthermore, this construction allows weight to be reduced without compromising stability in any way.

In the new Kendo 88 with tip and tail rocker the proven plywood core is also integrated, surrounded by the full sidewall and the P-Tex 2100 base.
