Product Description:

This offering is for a set of Dia-Compe (Model Gran-Compe...AC-250G) silver aero brake levers. The Dia-Compe branded gum rubber (brown/natural colored) hoods are a factory match and still very nice (soft and pliable). The lever mechanism is not spring-loaded (like the Model AC-251G levers), but the recoil action of a good quality caliper should still allow for responsive braking action.

Please also note this offering does include the matching aero cable housing stops...just as pictured. The opening where the cable and housing contact the brake lever (underneath the rubber hood) measures about 6 mm in diameter, so aero brake cable stops larger then this opening are needed to hold the cable housing in place (and from our experience, a 7 mm cable stop is a good fit and a 6 mm cable stop is not, as it will pass through the hole with the cable). On this same topic, we want to clarify that when we say "cable stops" we are not referring to the newer ferrules that are common today, which are typically the same diameter as the cable housing (about 6 mm). Many of today's newer levers have built-in cable stops, so these ferrules are all that is needed. However, for many of these old stock brake levers (these Dia-Compe aero levers included), a separate cable stop is required. In our complete brake set offerings, we note that many times these cable stops are included with the cables and slip over the cable housing...just as do the newer ferrules noted above...with the big difference being that these cable stops are slightly wider at their ends to provide the needed platform to hold the cable housing in place...away from the actual lever action (and underneath the rubber hoods).

So again, when we acquired these AC-250Gs, we were also provided enough of the wider (7 mm) cable housing stops, so that we can include a set with each of these lever sets. We will include these stops in a small plastic bag, so please look for it in the package, as you will need these stops to properly install the levers.

As for condition, these brake levers still show well.  We see some minor shopwear consisting of small/light scuffs and scratches on the few sets we have left in stock, but the overall cosmetic appearance is still nice.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning auction bids (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly abide by them.
