Issued in Beverly Hills, California, on February 25, 2003 to coincide with the 75th anniversary
of the founding of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences,
the stamps honor American film making. 
Each stamp has a face value of .37 cents and features a different role performed
by the many people who come together to create the magic of movies.
The stamps honor: Screenwriting, Directing, Costume Design, Music, Makeup, Art Direction,
Special Effects, and Sound. The sheet’s selvage has a quote by film producer David O. Selznick,
and a photograph of producer-director Cecil B. DeMille on the set of the 1934 epic film Cleopatra. 
The back of the pane has text blocks describing each of the filmmaking crafts depicted on the stamps.
