Jean Paul Gaultier was an avant-garde eyewear designer in the 1980s. Although at the time Japan was the most expensive place to manufacture eyeglass frames, Gaultier didn't want to settle for anything less than the finest craftsmanship for his sunglasses. Unlike most other designers, he did not outsource his layouts to large factories to make production cheaper and mass-produced, but instead closely followed the design and production of his sunglasses by the legendary manufacturer Murai Japan.

Hinge to hinge measures 140 mm, from the bottom to the highest point of the frame 40 mm, temple length 140 mm.
