Original
antique map of Naha Bay and part of the shoreline of Revillagigedo
Island
in southeast Alaska, printed more than 120 years ago.
- This map was compiled under
the direction of Commander Jefferson Franklin Moser on the steamer Albatross
for the United States Commission for Fish and
Fisheries.
- It locates the series of lakes along the course of the
Naha River, and
it labels Cache Island, the Alaska Packing Association cannery, and the
Loring post office, the first post office in the District of Alaska.
- The image area measures 19.6 x 24.5 cm [7¾" x 9¾"], and
the map is
titled "Behm Canal: Naha Stream and Lake System."
- Condition: It is in excellent
condition, bright and clean, with a vertical fold, as
issued, and no marks, rips, or tears.
