antique color lithographed 1893 map of Denver, Colorado, printed
more than
130 years ago.
- The map labels streets and
railroads, and it locates smelting works,
canals, parks, lakes, and reservoirs.
- Among the specific named places
and features are the Denver, Texas & Gulf Railroad, City Park,
Rocky Mountain Lake, Union Depot, One-Mile
Race Course at Overland Park, the Denver, South Park & Pacific
Railway, Cherry Creek, Lake Archer, the Denver & Rio Grande
Railroad, Peck's Hill, Sloan's Lake, and Riverfront Park — Denver's
birthplace, where Cherry Creek
meets the South Platte.
- Numerous, unnamed canals, identified with banded lines, thread
their way through the city. The only one that's labeled is the Platte
Canal, east of Cherry Creek.

Franklin Cram of Chicago in 1893. The image area measures 24.4 x 34
cm [10½" x 13½"].
