Vintage 1950's Balinese Hand Carved & Painted Wooden Face Mask, Folk Art

This is a vintage Balinese/Indonesian hand-carved wooden mask that is hand-painted with bright colors. There is a string attached to the back for wall hanging. These mask is considered to be mythological depictions of animals that have supernatural powers and could protect humans. The color, mood and tone are unique and have a primitive look and feel.
