UNGER BROS. STERLING SILVER SHOEHORN DOUBLE SIDED ART NOUVEAU PRINCESS

Workmanship and design are exquisite as to be expected from Unger Bros.

The pattern is called “ART NOUVEAU” and it is in fact the epitome of the Art Nouveau style.

A languid maiden with hair swirling around her adorns the handle on both sides amid flourishes and florals. Because of the star on her forehead denoting royalty, many collectors have dubbed this pattern “ Art Nouveau Princess.”

This is a rare pattern and not often seen.

Condition is wonderful excepting one small ding (image 10).

Warm patina just the way collectors desire.

The handle of course is sterling silver and the horn is steel. Excellent condition on the horn, high shine and no rust. Before the days of stainless steel, the metal was highly susceptible to rust. UB actually plated a silver coating on their steel to inhibit rust.

On one side the cartouche is monogrammed with the initial “K” and the other side is blank.

Full UB markings.

We currently have a puff jar in this pattern available and listed (item # 275618210758) separately (see last image). Happy to combine for free shipping on the shoehorn with the purchase of the puff jar.
