This miniature is hand painted high quality reproduction of illuminated manuscript leaf of Liber geneseos illustris familie Schidlovicie
Story:
The original work was a manuscript on parchment funded by Mikołaj Szydłowiecki of the Odrowąż coat of arms (1475-1532), the Grand Treasurer of the Crown, who wanted to perpetuate the merits of his family for the Kingdom of Poland. The manuscript was decorated with 12 miniatures depicting members of the Szydłowiecki family, made around 1532 by Stanisław Samostrzelnik (ca. 1480-1541), Polish painter and illuminator.
In each portrait, apart from members of the family, there is their coat of arms and an image of the patron saint. The originals are in the Kórnik Library of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
This item is an original watercolor and acrylic painting on the real goatskin parchment painted by professional miniaturist.
