The TH8 and TH8RS from Thrustmaster is a quality piece of kit but for myself and many others the throw of the shifter it too far. The knob sits too tall to make it feel like a realistic race, rally or drift car.

I have set out to design a short shift that can use different adapters to change the size of the thread. This allows a choice of real gear knobs to add an enhanced realism to you sim racing set up.

Its now possible to get a great look and feel by shortening the throw and fitting a real gear knob. The knob pictured is a universal aluminum knob approximately 8.5 cm x 3cm 

Unlike other solutions available for the TH8, which rely on plastic adapters that elevate the gear knob above the original M9 screw thread, my solution focuses on addressing the core issue: the excessive height of the OEM knob.
