Das Motiv in Farbe zeigt eine Nachbildung des Original-Filmplakates aus dem Jahr 1983 - ein Highlight für jeden STAR WARS™ Fan. Auch das offizielle Emblem zum 40. Jubiläum ist im Design enthalten. Auf der Rückseite sind das Wappen von Niue sowie der Nennwert und das Ausgabejahr abgebildet.

Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter™ ist die sechste Episode der STAR WARS™ Saga von George Lucas und knüpft an die Handlung von "Das Imperium schlägt zurück™" an. Die Produktion handelt von der Bedrohung durch den zweiten Todesstern, durch dessen Bau die Rebellen vernichtet werden sollen. Die Allianz rund um Han Solo™, Luke Skywalker™ und Leia Organa™ zieht erneut in die Schlacht gegen das Imperium, kann die Zerstörung des mächtigen Todessterns erwirken und schließlich die Befreiung von der Herrschaft des Imperiums feiern. Die Auflage der rechteckigen Münze aus 99,9% Silber in Polierter Platte ist auf 5.000 Exemplare weltweit limitiert. 40 years ago, the cult film STAR WARS™ - Return of the Jedi™ appeared on the big screen for the first time. To celebrate this anniversary, the New Zealand Mint has issued this limited collector coin in rectangular shape. The motive in color depicts a replica of the original movie poster from 1983 - a highlight for every STAR WARS™ fan. The official 40th anniversary emblem is also included in the design. The reverse features the Niue coat of arms as well as the denomination and year of issue.

Return of the Jedi™ is the sixth episode of George Lucas' STAR WARS™ saga and picks up where the plot of The Empire Strikes Back™ left off. The production deals with the threat of the second Death Star, the construction of which should destroy the Rebels. The alliance around Han Solo™, Luke Skywalker™ and Leia Organa™ once again goes into battle against the Empire, is able to achieve the destruction of the mighty Death Star and finally celebrate the liberation from the Empire's rule. The mintage of the 99.9% silver rectangular coin in proof quality is limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide.
