Photograph Notes: This attractive waterfall on the River Isla drops in a couple of steps a total of about 50 feet. It is in a scenic woodland setting with access by paths a short distance from the bridge over the river on the B954. It is said that at its base, behind the fall, is a cave named the 'Black Dub'. Legend claims the local laird once hid here from justice. However, here he met the Devil in the form of a black dog and gave himself up. Having no wish to encounter Auld Nick I have not descended to check and gaining access being a difficult undertaking.
