We present a charming portrait study in graphite, a gentleman of the diplomatic corps, military or possibly one of the security services (sitter unknown), from a portfolio of the artist’s work. One of several sketches we are featuring in his auction. Little is known about Harry Maycock, an early to mid 20thC sketcher and illustrator. Initialled with the artist’s monogram, HM, the sketch dates c1950s to possibly earlier, in our opinion. Presented in excellent condition in a later frame, this picture will look fabulous displayed.
