How to check the bearings?

A - With the bearings removed from the drive, check the bearing for any play, You should feel non if the bearing is good.

B - Turn the bearing it should turn smooth with no drag for couple of turns.

C - If you turn the bearing and it spin and it keep on spinning it is time to replace it.

D - If you know that your Shopsmith is over 10 years and it never had the bearings replaced it is time to replace them.
