Original 1912 antique color lithographed map of Alaska, printed more than 110 years ago.

  • The legend key locates:
    • Gold placers
    • Gold and silver lodes
    • Coal
    • Petroleum
  • Other details on the map include military cable and telegraph lines, the partially completed railroad north of Seward, and a completed railroad from Skagway to White Horse in the Yukon.


  • There are dozens of place names, settlements, and natural features, with topography drawn in relief.


  • The map was published by L.L. Poates in Complete Atlas of the World, New York, 1912. It is a revised edition of one issued in 1907 by Dodd, Mead & Company.


  • The image area measures 21.3 x 27 cm [8½" x 10¾"], and there are two distance scales:  statute miles and kilometers.


  • Condition:  The map is in very good condition. It had been printed on two separate sheets, which are now joined together. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
