Photograph Notes: Leslie Banks was an actor of stage and screen in this country and the USA during the first half of the last century. Amongst numerous films he appeared in the 1939 film version of Jamaica Inn and in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Man who knew too much" (1934). Leslie and his wife Gwendoline owned what used to be known as "Thatched Cottage" set back off the road next to the church at the top of the hill.
