Title: ZENITH / ENFORCER with Japan Limited Bonus Track Music CD from Japan
2019/4/26 55min.

A young, orthodox heavy metal band from Sweden has released their 5th album "Zenith", which will further expand their musical horizons! The ideal evolution of 80's heavy metal, including NWOBHM, is here. It is in!

The Enforcer is from Arvika, a city in the midwest of Sweden near the border with Norway. At the beginning of activities in 2004, it was a recording project by Olof Vikstrand himself, and Olof was in charge of all parts such as vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. With the two demos "ENFORCER" and "EVIL ATTACKER" produced in 2005 and the 7-inch single "EVIL ATTACKER c/w MISTRESS FROM HELL" produced in 2007, the American independent label Heavy Artillery was established. and participated in the compilation album "SPEED KILLS... AGAIN" released in 2007 from the same label as an enforcer. When the idea of ??releasing an album came up from Heavy Artillery, Olof decided to make Enforcer a band. He himself is in charge of vocals, and Olof's younger brother Jonas (drums), Adam Zarth (guitar), and Joseph Thor (bass) joined three musicians to complete the band Enforcer. .

In 2008, they released their first full-length album "INTO THE NIGHT", a speedy heavy metal sound reminiscent of early IRON MAIDEN, EXCITER, RAVEN, early METALLICA, etc. It became a hit in Japan, and became a bestseller in the imported disc market here in Japan. In 2008, Joseph switched from bass to guitar, and Tobias Lindqvist joined as a new bassist, forming a twin-guitar quintet. The five of them produced the second album "DIAMONDS", which became their debut album in Japan, and after the release of this album, they realized their first Japan tour. Their ultra-active and aggressive live performances were highly acclaimed by the Japanese audience, and their world tour was also very popular, solidifying their position as the standard-bearers of the new generation of heavy metal.

However, immediately after the Japan tour, guitarist Adam withdrew from the band, and Enforcer dared not recruit a replacement guitarist, and Olof continued his activities as a four-piece formation with both guitarist and vocalist. The four of them produced the third album "DEATH BY FIRE" announced in 2013. The album was also well received, and they embarked on an extended European tour, followed by a successful tour of South America. In October of the same year, they came back to Japan and experienced the big stage of "LOUD PARK".

In 2015, they released their 4th album "FROM BEYOND" which clearly showed the spread of music, which was also highly acclaimed. In November of the same year, he came to Japan for the third time and served as the headliner at "JAPANESE ASSAULT FEST". was joined by Jonathan Nordwall. In December of the same year, they released their first official live CD/DVD "LIVE BY FIRE". The DVD contains footage from their appearance at "LOUD PARK" in 2013, and the CD contains live recordings from their performance in Greece and three newly recorded songs.

After finishing the tour of "FROM BEYOND", they decided to spend more time writing songs than usual. It took two and a half years to complete the entire process of writing, recording, etc., and the latest work "Zenith", which is the fifth studio album as Enforcer, is completed. It is also unusual that there is an interval of more than four years from the announcement of the previous work.

According to Olof himself, "We didn't just try to make another album, we set out to make a timeless heavy metal album without any limits. The new Zenith is definitely what we've been working on." It's the most ambitious project in the world," he self-analyzes. The Enforcer's true worth is speed metal numbers accompanied by an explosive sprinting feeling, but other than that, epic-style songs that can be listened to in a progressive composition, colored with melancholic melodies. The influences and inspirations they have received so far are reflected in various forms, such as ballads, commercial-type songs reminiscent of 80's pop metal bands. As Olof says, it's the Enforcers' most ambitious album, and one that will make their name wider and deeper. With this work "Zenith", they are scheduled to perform at many festivals from the spring to the summer of 2019, after which a long-term world tour is planned.
