The 100 Euro gold coin thematizes the First Finnish Nature Conservation Act, which came into force 100 years ago, and emphasizes the importance of Finnish legislation for nature conservation. The motive of the coin was designed by Sandra Prami and features a bare tree as well as the year of issue and the inscription "LUONNONSUOJELU NATURSKYDD". The reverse features a stylized depiction of a beetle as well as the denomination and the inscription "SUOMI FINLAND".
