This kit is designed to solve the biggest issue with the Nikon F80/N80; broken plastic latches on the film door. The kit includes a metal latch machined out of 1018 mild steel and a 3d printed filing guide to assist in only removing the plastic that is necessary for the repair and streamlining installation. This kit will require the end user to purchase a needle file of 1/4" approximate width or similar and superglue to affix the metal latch to the existing plastic. Adhesive choice is largely up to the end user with a good 2 part plastic safe epoxy being the best choice for long term stability (Clamping would be required). If operating in a wet, humid environment or if corrosion is a fear,  I would recommend painting the latch (before installation) or applying a coating of a plastic safe PTFE grease to the latch (after installation).

F100 Usage Note: Please check out my other listing for a dedicated F100 Latch Repair KIt.

N70 Usage Note: Please let me know in the order notes or via comment if you are using this for a N70 so I can modify the latch for you. Check out the last images for N70 installation notes.

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for incorrect installation of the metal latch. I highly suggest making sure everything fits per the instruction manual before gluing.
