Adam Brenner (1800 Vienna - 1891 ibid.) was introduced to painting through the acquaintance with Johann Evangelist Scheffer von Leonhartshoff. At first he took privat lessons then entered the Viennese Academy of Fine Arts where he studied under Leopold Kupelwieser and Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. During his time at the Academy he made several trips to France, Germany and Switzerland. In 1869 he became a member of "Wiener Künstlerhaus". He also was active a restorer (and as such worked for Prince Esterhazy in Eisenstadt).
