Well-known German architect and decorator Wilhelm Kimbel was born in 1868 in Wroclaw (Breslau) in a carpenter's family and began to study drawing under his father. In 1889-1894 he worked as an architect in the USA. In 1897 Kimbel founded in Berlin a company "Kimbel & Friedrichsen" together with his friend Aßmus Friedrichsen.
